Richard Meade is the Editor of Lloyd’s List. He is an award-winning journalist and has been writing and talking about all aspects of the maritime industry and global trade for the past twenty years. As Editor he is responsible for navigating The List’s subscribers through the volatile politics, policy, deals and market movements that make up nearly 90% of global trade. He is also the host of the popular Lloyd’s List Shipping Podcast and a regular industry speaker and media commentator on all things shipping. He joined Lloyd’s List in 2006 as News Editor after jumping ship from the weekly maritime magazine Fairplay and prior to that started his career at the Financial Times.
Christopher Wiernicki is Chairman, President & CEO of ABS and Chairman of the ABS Group of Companies, Inc.
He holds numerous awards, honors, and recognition from world-leading academic and maritime organizations, most recently being elected to the U.S. National Academy of Engineering.
Wiernicki holds degrees and distinguished alumni honors from Vanderbilt University, the George Washington University, MIT, and Harvard University’s Advanced Management Program.
With background as a Seafarer, Frank Olsen has over 23 years’ experience across navy, offshore and merchant fleets. Frank has held various senior management positions within port operations, maritime services and logistics sectors globally.
Monique joint KPMG in 2006 after her education as finance graduate (studying at the financial administration). In her function as Tax Partner Monique advises clients in corporate taxation (compliance issues and special tax advice, e.g. tax audit support), international tax issues, tax planning strategies and optimization of existing structures. In addition, she has been involved in numerous national and international M&A transactions, e.g. cross boarder tax due diligence projects, tax structuring and SPA advice.
Şadan Kaptanoglu is Chief Executive Officer of shipping and shipyard group, Kaptanoglu Shipping. Ms Kaptanoglu holds a Phd from De Montfort University and graduated from Cass Business School (MSC) where she studied shipping, finance and trade. She was the first woman President of BIMCO and is the Chairperson of TURMEPA and Past President of INTERMEPA. She is also the Vice Chairperson of the Turkish Chamber of Shipping.
Michael Parker joined Citibank N.A. in London in September 1977. Michael Parker was recently appointed Chairman of Citi’s Global Shipping, Logistics and Offshore business having been Global Industry Head since 1997 until now. Vice Chairman of Corporate & Investment Banking (EMEA) and Chairman Corporate Banking EMEA.
During his 36 years involvement with shipping finance Mr. Parker has been a regular conference chairman, speaker or panellist. Under his leadership Citi receives recognised industry awards across the different areas of shipping finance and he was named Marine Money’s Dealmaker of the Year in 2012. In March 2015 in New York : Capital Link Leadership Award “in recognition of Michael Parker’s unique and extensive contribution to the shipping industry”. Mr. Parker chaired the London Committee of Intercargo for a number of years and is involved in UK maritime matters as they pertain to finance and served on the Expert Panel advising the UK Department for Transport on the UK 2050 Maritime Strategy. In 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021 he served on the Advisory Board of London International Shipping Week. In 2017 he was appointed to the Board of The Global Maritime Forum. Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Poseidon Principles launched in New York June 2019 and elected first Chairman of the Poseidon Principles Association in 2020.
